Mazatapec mushrooms were found in the Sierra Mazateca region of Oaxaca, Mexico, an area with deep historical connections to traditional mushroom use. This landrace phenotype is highly underrated. MAZ produces potent medium-sized mushrooms with light brown to golden caps that develop a distinctive caramel coloration.
